What will you do?
You build the commerce layer of a smart TV platform used across multiple European markets. That covers every step of buying and paying on the TV: standalone subscriptions, partner bundles with content providers and TV manufacturers, and the recurring billing behind them. The squad already has payments PMs. You add the capacity to own the payment lifecycle, PSP integrations and billing end to end. You report to a Product Manager in the Netherlands. The squad lead is based in the US, and you work every day with R&D teams in China, the Netherlands and Poland. Launches are often tied to new TV models, so the dates are fixed and planning matters.
A typical week
On Monday you refine the backlog with engineering and close the open questions on a QR-code handoff between TV and phone. On Tuesday you sit down with the PSP to plan a local payment method for a new market. Mid-week you write the PRD for the dunning and retry flow, including every edge case: expired cards, failed renewals, SCA challenges. On Thursday you go through the results of a checkout A/B test and decide what ships. On Friday you check progress against the next TV launch date.
Your responsibilities:
- Own the roadmap and backlog for payments, checkout, subscriptions and billing in the B2C squad;
- Write clear PRDs, user stories and acceptance criteria that engineering can build from;
- Map end-to-end flows and edge cases, including authorization handoffs between TV and mobile (QR, OTP, companion app);
- Launch and optimise payment methods with PSP partners, including local payment methods per market;
- Design recurring billing journeys: trials, renewals, proration, dunning, retry logic and payment method updates;
- Shape catalogue, pricing, bundle and promotion capabilities;
- Define and track KPIs (conversion, ARPU, churn, LTV, payment success rate, recovery rate) and run A/B tests;
- Deliver against fixed launch dates across European markets while balancing PSD2/SCA, 3DS and UX.
Who are you?
- 3–5 years in product management, including at least 2 years owning payments, checkout or subscription/billing products end to end, with at least one feature you took to production yourself (EU/UK preferred).
- Deep knowledge of the payment lifecycle (authorization, capture, refunds, chargebacks, settlement, reconciliation) and PSD2/SCA and 3DS.
- Hands-on PSP integration experience (Adyen ideally; Stripe, Checkout or Worldpay also welcome), including local payment methods.
- A solid grasp of recurring billing, involuntary churn and payment recovery, as well as catalogue, pricing, bundles and promotions.
- A data-literate PM who has owned the backlog in a cross-functional team: you define KPIs, read funnels and interpret A/B tests.
- Fluent in English and free to work in the Netherlands.
- Plus: multi-country rollouts (localisation, tax/VAT, multi-currency), payments on smart TVs or second-screen/OTP flows, loyalty programmes, fraud/risk tooling, or French, German, Italian or Spanish.
What can you expect?
- Entrepreneuship in a brand-new role in a strategic e-commerce launch: you help build payments on the platform from the ground up.
- A gross base salary between €100,000 to €130,000 per year, based on experience and seniority.
- A 15–20% bonus based on company and personal performance.
- 24 holiday days and 8% holiday payment.
- Commute allowance for office days.
- Real impact on a product used by millions of viewers across Europe.
- An international environment, working with teams in Europe, Asia and the US.
- Flexible working hours with a central office in Amsterdam.
- Relocation support for candidates moving from elsewhere in Europe.
Where will you work?
You'll join the European organisation of a global technology company behind one of the world's largest smart TV operating systems. The platform runs on millions of TVs and gives viewers access to streaming services, apps and content. Payments are a core part of its e-commerce strategy: the aim is to let viewers buy subscriptions and bundles directly on their TV, simply and securely.
Today the platform is built into more than 400 TV brands, available in over 180 countries and used by more than 50 million active users. Analysts expect it to overtake LG's webOS in European shipments this year, which makes it one of the fastest-growing TV platforms in Europe. Content, services, commerce and AI assistance are coming together in a single home experience, and the commerce layer you'll build sits at the heart of that.
The Amsterdam team works closely with R&D in China, the Netherlands and Poland and with leadership in the US. English is the working language. You'll be in a fast-moving, international setting where launches are tied to new hardware and product decisions show up straight away on screens across Europe.
